The Grading Committee for the Royal New Zealand Pipe Bands’ Association has made the following determinations following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season:
City of Tauranga Pipe Band promoted to Grade Two from Grade Three;
Waimatuku Southern Scenic Highland Pipe Band demoted to Grade 4B from Grade 4A.
The Grading Committee also determined that the Hawthorn City Pipe Band (Australia), when competing in New Zealand, would play in Grade One. Subsequently, Pipe Bands Australia has determined Hawthorn City Pipe Band would compete in Grade One in Australia as well.
