The RNZPBA is seeking expressions of interest for the volunteer position of Director – RNZPBA Summer School.
This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering our national Summer School programme — a cornerstone event on the RNZPBA calendar that brings together pipers and drummers from across the country for a week of learning, development and connection.
Working alongside the Education Group and Music Judges Selection Committee, the Director will lead the planning, design, and on-the-ground delivery of the Summer School, ensuring the programme is well-structured, inclusive, and meets the needs of both students and tutors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and refining the Summer School programme, including classes, workshops and performance opportunities
- Appointing and managing tutors and key support staff Overseeing event logistics, communications, and registration
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners
- Creating a high-quality learning environment that supports musical development at all levels
This is a volunteer role, with travel and accommodation costs covered by the RNZPBA. The Director is appointed for a 12-month term, with the opportunity to renew by agreement.
We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, experience leading events or educational programmes, and a genuine passion for piping and drumming education in Aotearoa.
