On the week leading up to ANZAC day 2021, the National Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand, had a week long workshop in Wellington. This culminated in a magnificent performance at the national ANZAC memorial service, which was televised at the National War Memorial in Wellington.
The band were the Guard of Honour for the distinguished guests, and also marched everyone out at the end of the service – clear to say our Youth Band were an absolute hit for all at the service.
Capitalising on the great music played at the service, the band went on to film a memorial tribute which was released on YouTube on 31 July. The release date was in memory of the start of the Battle of Passchendaele, 31 Jul 1917 – 10 Nov 1917, a long battle that saw the death of over 800 NZ soldiers.
We are extremely proud of our up and coming young musicians, so we are stoked to get their performance out there to pay tribute to our forefathers who gave their lives to allow us a future where we could do this.
