Entries are now open for the 2026 RSPBA Oceania Solo Drumming Championships at St Andrew’s College in Christchurch.

Events for the 2026 event include: 

  • The RSPBA Oceania Adult Snare MSR*; 
  • The RSPBA Oceania Juvenile 5 Snare Championship; 
  • The RSPBA Oceania Juvenile 4 Snare Championship; 
  • The RSPBA Oceania Juvenile 3 Snare Championship;
  • The RSPBA Oceania Juvenile 2 Snare Championship; and
  • The RSPBA Oceania Juvenile 1 Snare Championship. 

*The top four place-getters in the Adult Snare MSR automatically qualify for the 2026 RSPBA World Solo Drumming Championships Semi-Final.

In addition, there is a separate Adult Snare Hornpipe & Jig event. The Wayne Hobbs trophy for NZ Open Solo Drumming champion will be awarded to the aggregate winner of the RSPBA Oceania Adult Snare MSR and Adult Snare Hornpipe & Jig events.

For the first time ever, we are also conducting the RNZPBA New Zealand Championship Adult Tenor MSR, which is open to anyone 18 years and older. The requirement for this event will be one March, Strathspey and Reel set of your own choice.

RSPBA Events – Age and Tune Requirements

The RSPBA require tunes from the RSPBA Approved List to be played in the Juvenile 1 and Juvenile 2 events. The list of approved tunes can be found here:
