TICKETS
General admission tickets are available Online here from Humanitix. (free for under 18s).

Gate entry sales will be available on the day. These will be $5.00 more than the online presales – EFTPOS is preferred.

CONTEST VENUE
Onewa Domain.
Corner Northcote Road and Akoranga Drive.
Northcote, Auckland’s North Shore.
Please note that Onewa Domain is a smoke-free area.
Dogs are permitted on the contest grounds but must be kept on a lead at all times.
The venue is also wheelchair friendly.

Gate sales and public entry from 8:00 am both days.

Allocated Band Parking available from 7:00 am both days.

CONTEST DRAW
The final contest draw is now available Here on the RNZPBA website.

TRAFFIC
Plan accordingly as Auckland can be unpredictable during peak hours. If your band runs into any issues, please notify the Contest Supervisor Rod Miller on (+64) 21 034 1603, or as a back up the Contest Group Leader Mark Wilson (+64) 21 910 262 as soon as possible

BAND INFORMATION PACKS
Bands will be given an information pack which will include wrist bands for all nominated players plus 3 support personnel, a vehicle parking pass, a souvenir programme, parking maps for the contest arena & street march, as well as other local tourist information and voucher packs.

This will be available for collection from the following places:

  1. Thursday 14th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm, Information Tent, Onewa Domain.
  2. Thursday 14th, 5:30pm – 7:00pm, RNZPBA AGM (Bridgeway Cinema, 122 Queen Street, Northcote).
  3. Friday 15th, 8:00am onwards, Information Tent, Onewa Domain

BAND TENTS
Band tent hire and site allocations will be released to bands next week.
Setup will be available from midday Thursday 14th March. For bands hiring tents, tables or chairs, you will be invoiced shortly.

PARKING – ONEWA DOMAIN
Bands will be allocated one parking space within the venue (shown as 4 on the map) by way of a parking pass to be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard.

PARKING – TAKAPUNA STREET MARCH

Grade 4 bands are to assemble and perform at the conclusion of the Street March in the Hurstmere Green (on Hurstmere Road) for a static massed bands display.

FOOD
We will have a great selection of food vendors available covering burgers, chips, hot dogs, ciabatta melts, burritos, Japanese fried chicken, Eastern European BBQ and Mr. Whippy ice creams.

A sausage sizzle will also be running until late near the hospitality tent on Saturday.

INFORMATION TENT
A ‘have a go’ section where people can try out the instruments will be combined with this year’s information tent. Bands can collect their band information packs from here during the allocated times. This will also act as the lost children’s tent.

NATIONAL YOUTH PIPE BAND OF NEW ZEALAND
Next to the Information Tent, the National Youth Pipe Band of NZ will be holding a fundraiser for their trip to Canada in July.

The Great “Ducky Dip” will feature a duck race on Sunday 7th April – purchase your ducks on the day from their tent.

HOSPITALITY TENT
We have teamed up with The Beer Spot to bring you a lineup covering beer, cider, wine, soft-drinks and coffee.

This will operate from 11:00 am until late both days. Coffee will be operating from the contest opening times.

Similar to the 2023 contest in Christchurch, we will be using a pre-purchase token system, which can be bought onsite – EFTPOS is preferred.

MERCHANDISE
Contest merchandise is available to order online before and after the contest here from this website.

There will be a small selection of men’s and women’s t-shirts on display at the information tent, however we won’t be carrying stock onsite.

KIDS ZONE
Alongside other activities for kids, a scavenger hunt through Smith’s Bush will be operating. The Kaipatiki Community Facilities Trust will be arranging various activities on the Saturday.

SECURITY
Items left onsite are at your own risk, however there will be roaming security over Thursday and Friday evenings.
